The BLDC motor belongs to DC motor, same category with Dyson hair dryer motor. Because it uses and can only work with direct current.
It is equivalent to a reverse-mounted DC motor in structure. Its armature is placed on the stator and the rotor is a permanent magnet. Its armature winding is a multi-phase winding, generally three-phase. The windings of each phase are respectively connected to the transistor switches in the electronic commutator circuit.
A rotor position detector, a tachogenerator and a photoelectric pulse encoder are installed on the rotor shaft of the brushless DC motor. The output signal of the rotor position detector controls the electronic commutator to realize the commutation of the motor, that is, the conduction and cut-off of the transistor in the electronic commutator are determined by the output signal of the rotor position detector. The output signal of the tachogenerator is used for speed feedback.
